Az idei év A nyolcadik utas: a Halál bemutatójának harmincharmadik és a Szárnyas fejvadász moziba kerülésének harmincadik évfordulója. A két stílusalapító film rendezője, Ridley Scott különleges módon ünnepli az évfordulót: visszatér az űrbe: hosszú szünet és néhány klasszikussá vált, más műfajú film (a Thelma és Louise-től a Gladiátor-ig ) után újra sci-fit rendez. Ez pályája 22. filmje. A Prometheus (Prometheus) stúdiókban és izlandi gleccsereken készült, és az interneten keringő pletykák szerint A nyolcadik utas: a Halál előzményfilmje.

– Amikor az első Alien-filmet és a Szárnyas fejvadász-t készítettem, úgy gondoltam, hogy a közeli jövőben a világ hatalmas cégek tulajdona lesz – fedett fel egy kicsit a kártyáiból az egyébként titkolózó rendező. – Ezért szerepel a Szárnyas fejvadász-ban a Tyrell Corporation és A nyolcadik utasban a Wayland-Yutani nevű vállalat. Ők küldik fel a Nostromo nevű űrhajót. A Prometheus-ban lesz egy vállalkozó cégtulajdonos, akit Guy Pearce játszik, és úgy hívják: Peter Wayland. Ennyi a kapcsolat a két film között, és semmi több. A Prometheus új film, új világ, és új ötletekkel van tele. Meg persze: új szörnyekkel is.
